Kayla's Fitness Favorites

Y'all, my gym reopened! This has been the best thing to happen to me during this pandemic! I've been back every week day since they opened and since I'm back on my gym and fitness grind I thought I'd share some of my fitness favorites with y'all! YouTubers

Okay, hear me out - gymspo/fitspo/all that jazz is super important for me! These incredible ladies not only give me that inspo, but they also have TONS of workout videos and ideas for home and gym! When I am low on inspiration for coming up with a workout I just choose one of their videos and do that!


  1. Whitney Simmons - Whitney is super high energy (love!) and her workout videos make using the weight room way less scary for gym newbies!

  2. Natacha Oceane - Natacha is incredibly positive and shares a lot about her journey to discover her best fit life. She does a lot of functional training and honestly, I am not strong enough for most of her routines - but goals!

  3. Lucy Wyndham-Read - Lucy was a lifesaver during lockdown! I loved her workouts before I had a gym membership and it was fun to go back to them more this year while I couldn't go to the gym! Most of her workouts require no equipment and there are hundreds of them!

  4. Sarah's Day - Sarah is another one who I am not in shape enough to do most of her workouts, but I love her vibes (and her adorable son, Fox) and her meal ideas are delicious!


Apparel

If I'm being honest, my gym wear is pretty random and scattered but there are two things that are my ABSOLUTE favorites that y'all (especially my fellow plus-sized gals) should look into!

  1. Torrid Active Leggings With Pockets - full size, cropped, black, fun prints - regardless, these are incredible! I constantly have to stop myself from buying more of these leggings. They fit great and have phone pockets ON BOTH SIDES! These are a win!

  2. Nike Metcon 5 - These are my current favorite gym shoes. I have to stop myself from buying all the colors because they are so fun and so comfy!


Supplements

I don't take a lot of supplements for working out, but these three items are my favorite for pre and post workout!




Tech

Honestly I know everyone has their own preferences here, but I am an Apple gal so I always have on my Apple Watch and AirPods. But to each their own!


Music

Last, but certainly not least, let's talk about music. Music is crucial to my workouts. I have to have my pump up jams! Now my actual gym playlist is 100 songs long, and y'all don't need to go down that rabbit hole, but I've made an abbreviated version of some of the songs that get me the most pumped! Check it out!
