My All Time Favorite Bachelor/ette Seasons

We are in the midst of what may actually be the "most dramatic season" of the Bachelorette yet. Today on Life, Styled I am talking about ALL of my feelings about Clare Crawley's season of the Bachelorette and why I'm not excited for it or Matt James season of the Bachelor. But I do love Bachelor Nation big time, so I thought for today's blog I would talk about some seasons I really enjoyed to make up for the hot mess that is this current season.

Here are my top five favorite Bachelor/Bachelorette seasons of all time!

5. Rachel Lindsay

I LOVE Rachel so much. I loved her on Nick's season (read: she was the only good thing about Nick's season) and was so excited that she was going to be the Bachelorette! Now I was super annoyed that they announced it before she was eliminated from Nick's season though. It definitely didn't set her up for a well received season. However, her season was awesome! I guessed the winner and won my bracket, I loved that she took no shit, and she was an incredible choice for the first Black lead of the franchise, though I'm super disappointed that it has taken 3 more years and a pandemic and tons of drama for us to get another Black lead (but I digress, we don't need to talk about my feelings about Matt and my long list of reasons why Mike should've been the Bachelor instead of Peter and him). I'm so glad that her and Bryan have worked out and I just love them a lot.

4. Sean Lowe

So here's the deal with Sean Lowe - I don't particularly like him as a Bachelor, but his season was the first one I got truly invested in! It was also the first season that was ever spoiled for me. I had a friend in high school whose cousin was friends with Catherine's sister or something like that and so she found out that Sean and Catherine were engaged and told us all. And honestly, I wasn't mad because I love a good win for a PNW gal! This also sparked one of my favorite tweets I've ever sent: "Note for future husband- if we don't ride off into the sunset on an elephant once you propose, you've failed. #justsayin" with that awesome Thailand proposal. This season will always hold a special place in my heart, but is definitely not my absolute favorite.

3. Hannah Brown

I've got to be honest, I was not looking forward to Hannah's season for a few reasons. First, she was eliminated to early in Colton's season for her to make sense as a choice for Bachelorette using the normal "formula" and second, I was SO not ready for a Bachelorette that was my age. That scared the hell out of me. I had a moment of "am I old?" and then "why is someone my age ready to do this already? We're still young. She's still hot. Why be the Bachelorette at 24?" But despite my misgivings, I really enjoyed her season. I adore Hannah's personality, and loved how blunt she was and how she didn't let her image of being a "good, southern christian girl" stop her from FULLY exploring these relationships (windmills anyone?) and stood up for herself against men (boys...Luke...ugh...) who acted like she was bad for doing so. I had really low expectations for this season and they were blown out of the water!

2. Ben Higgins

Not who you expected to be my favorite Bachelor, is he? Ben Higgins is the freaking best y'all. Now do I have a TON of different beliefs than him? Abso-fucking-lutely. Did I still completely fall in love with him during Kaitlyn's season of The Bachelorette? Abso-fucking-lutely. If you didn't love Ben H. during Kaitlyn's season, you are a LIAR. He was so charming and genuine and though he didn't seem like someone Kaitlyn would fall for, she did. He was so different than her other finalists and it was so refreshing to have just some joy in the midst of all of the Shawn and Nick drama! When he was announced as the Bachelor I lost my mind and was so excited. He was a great Bachelor and though I HATED his final pick (ugh, Lauren...), I really enjoyed his season. He stayed true to himself, was honest even when it got him in a bit of trouble (telling Jojo and Lauren he loved them? Maybe not the best idea, but it was true!), and he set Jojo up for a great season! I've loved getting to see him in other spaces of the Bachelor world and an absolute highlight of 2020 was seeing him at Bachelor Live On Tour! He also is releasing a book in February and I am so excited to read it (and hope it will be better than Colton's...)!

1. Kaitlyn Bristowe

Last but not least, the absolute queen of my heart, Kaitlyn Bristowe. Y'all, I love this woman so much and she is everything I wish I was. Ever since her season she has been my favorite member of Bachelor nation and I don't see that changing ever. She is bold and blunt and beautiful and a badass and I love everything she does. Were her choices of men during her season always great? No. But she gave us two Bachelors, the saga of Jared and Ashley, and some of the best man drama of the franchise. Since the Bachelorette she has launched a wine brand, a scrunchie brand, an awesome podcast, and is now competing on Dancing with the Stars. I just love her.

What has been your favorite season of The Bachelor/ette?

xo,

Kayla
