In an attempt to find some more calm and structure for my life during quarantine I have revamped my morning routine. This new morning routine is a bit extensive, but nothing I can't do when I can't go back to work. It hits all of my physical, spiritual and intellectual needs as far as getting ready for a day goes and really starts my day on a good note!
5:00AM: Alarm goes off! I usually give myself around 15-30 minutes to just adjust to being awake, check my phone, stare at the ceiling, whatever I need that morning! Then I'll get up and go brush my teeth before I do anything else.
5:30AM: I make my bed and then get into organizing my day. I start by updating my Google Calendar with anything I didn't put in from the day before and things I know will be happening that day. After I update my calendar I do my Start Today Journal from The Hollis Co. In this journal I have my daily gratitude and goal setting practice. It has been a crucial part of my morning routine. It sets me up to have a productive day and gets me in a good headspace as I move forward with my goals and projects.
6:00AM: Workout time! Usually I will do a quick YouTube video workout or something I can easily do with just a mat, some bands and some small weights. Sometimes I'll go for a walk if it is nice enough out, but for the most part I stick to my digital workouts. I love Lucy Wyndham-Read, The Fitness Marshall and Tone it Up!
6:30AM: Once I've finished my workout and posted my #sweatyselfie to Instagram, I'll lay out my outfit for the day and go hop in the shower. Once I'm dressed I'll open my blinds to let some daylight in, take my medications and do my hair.
7:15AM: Once I'm ready for the day I'll do my morning Tarot practice. For the month of April I've been doing Kayleigh Jean's (@falconsandpentacles) April Fool's Journey challenge. It has been a great way to dive into some tarot study with prompts decided for me. After I do that I'll usually pull an oracle card. Either an affirmation or archetype that I need for the day.
7:45AM: I'll head downstairs to make my breakfast. I start with my Tropeaka x Sarah's Day Body Bloom. I love this stuff! It has done wonders for my digestion and skin, and it tastes delicious! Then I make my breakfast. Current favorites are Life Cereal with almond milk and sliced banana or a Sausage Toaster Scramble with two fried eggs, Everything But the Bagel seasoning and chipotle Tabasco sauce.
8:00AM: Once my breakfast is made I take it upstairs with me to eat while I have some down time. Lately this has been a lot of reading but sometimes I'll watch a movie, catch up on YouTube, talk to a friend, basically anything that feeds my soul that morning! I also make sure that during this time I finish my first 40 ounces of water for the day.
10:00AM: Time to start work! Once the stay at home order is lifted I'll have to leave at 9:30, but for now I just do my chosen soul-feeding activity until 10 o'clock and then get straight to work!
