My December TBR List

Writer's picture: KaylaKayla

Happy December everyone! We are coming down to the end of the year, and that means finishing our 2020 reading goals! I still need to read sixteen books to hit my goal of 150 books in the year 2020. I'm hopeful that I can do it now that NaNoWriMo is over, but it's definitely going to take some work. Every month I choose ten books that I'm going to focus on, but the last two months I haven't finished those lists. This month I am determined to get through them!

Here are my ten books I want to read in December 2020!

Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas

I really would ideally finish the entire Throne of Glass series this year, but Empire of Storms is a must finish! I'm really obsessed with this series, and all of SJM's works. I've taken breaks from ToG to read ACOTAR and Crescent City, but I'm always super excited to get back to it!

Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust

This was a birthday gift from a lovely bookstagram friend, Kim. I've heard great things about this book that is about a princess with a curse that has kept her in the shadows. I'm super excited to get to it!

The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

This book is the conclusion to the Folk of the Air series. I have loved getting to know Jude and Cardan and this beautiful world that Holly Black has built. I've been putting this one off a little bit because I don't want it to be over!

Super Fake Love Song by David Yoon

This is the only new release on this list and I'm very excited about it! I grabbed it at Costco the other day (breaking my no buy...) and can't wait to read it. I love a good mistaken identity book and this one about a geek pretending to be a rockstar to get the girl of his dreams sounds like something I'll love!

May Cause Miracles by Gabrielle Bernstein

Gabby Bernstein is quickly becoming one of my favorite self-help/meditation/metaphysical authors. May Cause Miracles is a 40-day course of sorts for welcoming happiness into your life. It is the one of the only books of hers I haven't read yet, and looks like it will be a quick, yet super inspiring, read for me.

No Offense by Meg Cabot

I picked this book up a while ago because I loved Meg Cabot growing up. Her books were some of my favorites that made me love reading in middle school. I haven't read any of her adult fiction books, so I am super excited to dive into the world of Little Bridge Island and this romance between the librarian and sheriff.

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J Maas

I will finish ToG by the end of January. This is the second to last book in the ToG series and I'm excited and sad that I'm getting this close to the end. This is the book I'm least likely to finish this month, but you bet your ass I will try!

The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee

Yes, this is the third month this has been on my TBR. I will read it! This is the first book of Katharine McGee's trilogy she wrote before American Royals. It is structured like American Royals with several POV characters, but unlike AR that is set in an alternate version of the current time, The Thousandth Floor is set in the distant future. I really loved the American Royals duology, so I have high hopes for this trilogy.

Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

Princes, first sons, forbidden romance, oh my! This book has been on my TBR for over a year and I'm super excited to finally get to it. I feel like everyone and their mother has read and loved this book, so I have super high hopes.

The Coaching Habit by Michael Bungay Stanier

This book is one I have to read for a leadership program I am participating in for my sorority, but I'm actually really excited to read it. I love nonfiction books and haven't read enough of them this year. I'm hopeful for how this will make me a better leader and coach in my alumnae volunteer position!

So there you have it, the ten books I am going to make myself read to end this year!

What is on your December TBR?

xo,

Kayla
